A passing score on an International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) endorsed Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). The CCFD is not offering the CPAT at this time.

A letter or certificate is acceptable.

The CPAT must have been completed within one (1) year of the job posting date.

Fire Inspector
Minimum Requirements

Two (2) years of experience in various disciplines of building maintenance, logistics, Public Safety, or other related fields
Key Responsibilities
-
Maintains uniform and/or station supply inventories and prepares order forms and information sheets to order new/replacements.
-
Performs routine maintenance on general station equipment, uniforms; and maintains current knowledge of station policies and procedures to ensure compliance with established regulations.
-
Prepares repair forms and packaging for uniforms, PPE and station equipment sent off site for service.
-
Orders standard inventory items for the purpose ensuring proper supply for certified personnel, i.e., lights, batteries, uniforms, medical equipment, etc.
Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Consults with builders, owners, and contractors to identify potential problems or violations, discusses any necessary modification and/or changes required, and ensures corrective action is taken in assigned area.

Inspects buildings and facilities under construction, alteration and/or repair for compliance with applicable code requirements and for safe application of construction practices in assigned area.

Receives and investigates complaints related to fire hazard or code violations, makes recommendations, insures notification, and conducts re-inspections.

Investigates extinguished fires to determine origin and cause; if accidental, makes recommendation to prevent reoccurrence. May conduct fire investigation with State Fire Marshal's Office and other local law enforcement personnel.

Education and Experience Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work emphasis in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Organizational Leadership or closely related.

One (1) year of experience in a position primarily dedicated to a comprehensive Emergency Management program OR successful completion of a comprehensive Emergency Management internship
Key Responsibilities

Processing and interpretation of documents for accreditation. Assist with continuous quality improvement for Department's catalog of policies and forms to meet accreditation standards.

Processing and interpretation of documentation for the Insurance Service Office (ISO) to maintain or improve the current ISO grade.

Research, develop, and revise Fire Department policies and procedures.

Liaison between Human Resources and Fire Department regarding personnel policies and procedures.
